Our Advisory Board represents leading professionals in their respective fields who have distinguished themselves in their careers.

They bring both industry depth and strategic knowledge of various sectors driven by global exposure and hands on local experience.

The advisory board acts as a sounding board on the various engagements that we undertake. They lend their time, networks and expertise.

James is currently the managing director, Kenya Orient Insurance Limited. James has over 20 years experience in operations management, investments and financial management in East and South Africa. He was previously the Director of Investments at Daykio Group, a family office with diverse interests in finance and real estate sectors. He has also been the Director of Private Equity at Centum Investment Company Limited, where he led the group investment team in acquisition and divestment strategies. James has previously worked for Transcentury Ltd as CEO of Kewberg Cables & Braids Pty Ltd. He has vast Board experience serving in several boards including General Motors East Africa and UAP Insurance among other companies.

James holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and is a CPA(K)

Mwenda is currently the Acting Director, Banking Services, National Payments System and Risk Management Department at the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK). He has served in various capacities at the Bank, including Bank Supervision, Governors’ Office, Internal Audit, Finance, National Debt and Financial Markets. He also served as the Finance and Administration Manager on secondment to the Ministry of Finance at the Year 2000 (Y2K) National Secretariat overseeing the millennia changeover. He also in the recent past worked very closely with National Treasury on Debt Management matters.

Mwenda holds an Executive MBA Degree from Management University of Africa, a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option) Degree from University of Nairobi and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPAK).

Diana is a frontier markets professional providing business and transaction advisory services that focus on investor readiness, investment structuring, capital raising, investor relations and portfolio company support in Sub Saharan Africa. Diana has over 16 years work experience across East Africa, having worked in the capital markets, asset management, private equity and advisory sectors. She worked as a Business Development Manager, at Britam Asset Managers where she focused on raising capital and structuring investment products for its Private Equity and Real estate segments.

She was the Head of Investor Relations at Fusion Group Africa, a regional Private Equity firm domiciled out of Guernsey, focusing on investments in the SME and Real Estate sector in East Africa. She led the successful fund raising of a first time USD 40M fund. She also set up Fusion Investment Management, a Capital Markets Authority (CMA) and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulated, Africa focused Alternative Assets fund manager in Kenya

Prior to that, Diana set up and led the Investor Relations department at the Nairobi Securities Exchange Diana is a non executive director and Chair of the Human Resources, Administration and Nominations (HRAN) committee at Genghis Capital Investment Bank. Diana is an advocate of the high court in Kenya. She passed her CFA Level I exams, has a Bachelor of Laws degree and is currently undertaking her Masters in Entrepreneurship at the University of Cambridge. Diana speaks fluent English and Kiswahili and has a working knowledge of French.

Diana is a frontier markets professional with over 17 years’ work experience in investment advisory, private equity, capital markets and asset management sectors.

She has regional and international experience in providing business and transaction advisory services including deal origination, commercial and legal due diligence reviews as well as capital raising.

As founder of Private Equity Support, Diana leverages her investor and entrepreneurial experience to facilitate sustainable early stage investments in Sub Saharan Africa. 

Financial and Business Analyst


Esther has 10 years working experience in Financial and Investment Analysis, Financial Modelling, Due diligence, Strategy development and implementation and financial advisory.

She has worked with various institutions through PES such as AfDB, PFAN, USAID KIM, Aqua for All, MEDA, AECF and GIZ WIDU.

Esther holds a Master of Finance degree from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.

She is also a Certified Public Accountant [CPA] finalist, a Certified Investments and Financial Analyst of Kenya [CIFA – K] and a member of ICIFA in good standing.

Financial and Business Analyst


Charity has over 10 years working experience in Investment Management, Financial Analysis, Private Equity, Accounting and Fund Management.

Charity holds a Master of Finance degree from The University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Education(Mathematics and Business) from Kenyatta University.

She is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya(CPA K) and has an International Certificate in Wealth and Investment Management from Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment(CISI)

Junior Financial and Business Analyst

Amy has 2+ years’ experience working with SMEs across various sectors by assisting in the work with various institutions including PFAN, USAID KIM, MEDA, GIZ WIDU, AFDB, TechnoServe and AECF in the provision of investor readiness support. This includes review and preparation of investor documentation such as business plans, teasers and pitch decks; financial statements review & analysis amongst others.


She has passed all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program and may be awarded the charter upon completion of the required work experience. Amy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from Kenyatta University.

Finance and Investment Associate

Dorcas is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Modeling and Valuation analyst who is highly resourceful & agile in collaborating with business managers and teams to deliver business performance and attain growth targets through aligned financial strategies.

With over six years of experience as an accountant, she has strongly led and executed roles in preparing budgets and monitoring performance, cash flow projections, financial modeling, financial reporting and analysis, setting up accounting systems and internal controls. She is proficient in workplace relationships, cash monitoring and replenishment, general ledger account processes, account reconciliations, statutory compliance, and revenue checkoffs.

Dorcas is currently the finance and investment associate at Private Equity Support and has a Bachelor’s Degree in business management- Finance and Banking from Masai Mara University.
